The International CES: Vegas 2015

The International Consumer Electronics Show, held in Las Vegas, has much more excitement in store this year than over the past few years.

The event attracts more than 150k visitors to an exhibition space larger than the equivalent of 35 football fields. A top trend in electronics right now is The Internet of Things, a term referring to the concept of a world full of connected devices controlled through a consumer-friendly hub. Many new exhibitors are chasing this trend with their devices this year, in order to appeal to consumers.

New devices include a Wi-Fi connected ceiling fan, a Girl Scouts of America digital app, smart sports clothing, and smart home gadgets, among others. Major companies that are not usually a part of CES are even getting involved this year as the digital lifestyle is less just a concept and more of a practical execution. For example, Apple will not have a physical presence but other companies are expected to show off products that connect and work with Apple’s HomeKit development platform.

Cars will also have a larger presence, and televisions are expected to make their usual huge displays. To learn more about themes of the show, and predictions of what devices will appeal to consumers, visit here.
